There’s no doubt about it: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 is real. However, that may not be the actual title of Zelda’s sequel, at least it is what everyone is calling it right now – Nintendo is being very tight-lipped about information, so much so that we do not know if that is the title of the game.
Nintendo is sticking with the title ‘Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ for now. The full title, however, may reveal too much…
We have given a new look at Breath of the Wild 2 at Nintendo’s June 20, 2021, Nintendo E3 Direct. Nintendo also provided us with screenshots showing off more details on the game and potentially leaving us with more questions than answers.
A second trailer for the game showed off gameplay, departing from the towers and earthbound trappings of the first and welcoming players to a new world high above Hyrule’s lands. It’s not the first time Link has been above the clouds, but it’s the most beautiful.
There has only been one other trailer shown since its official reveal at E3 2019, confirming a release window of sometime in 2022. Even from those two trailers, we can glean some interesting information about the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 – Release Date, Platforms & Price:
There is only a 2022 release window for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2. The Switch’s predecessor launched with the Switchback in March 2017, so it could be that Nintendo hopes to release it around the same time. Holiday 2022 could also be a possibility.
This is an exclusive Nintendo Switch title. The price has not been announced yet, but we expect it to sell for the same price as other first-party Nintendo titles.
Breath Of the Wild however stands out as an outlier, as the price for that game is £59.99, even though it costs $59.99 in the US. The same may happen here as well.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath 0f The Wild 2 – First Look Trailer:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 was confirmed during E3 2019 when Nintendo unveiled a first look trailer. In this video, Link and Zelda explore a creepy dungeon deep within Hyrule Castle and find a body that may be Glandorf’s. The eyes of corpses also open in quick cuts that appear as if Link had become trapped before we see a mysterious force raise Hyrule Castle from the ground.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 – E3 2021 Teaser Trailer:
The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 is a teaser that Nintendo released at E3 2021. Despite its cryptic plot details, it provides a glimpse of what we can expect in the sequel.
There seem to be two versions of Link, one diving through clouds and exploring the skies, while the other is on the ground in his blue tunic, so it seems that the game will take place up and down, in honor of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. There are also new enemies shown in the teaser, while Link appears to have new Sheikah powers, including one that takes advantage of time and one that expands upon stasis ability.
The teaser ends with another image of Hyrule Castle floating above the ground with a malevolent aura, although serene orchestral music can be heard playing the first few notes of Princess Zelda’s theme before the video fades. Do you know what this could mean?
